Tasks and goals
The tasks and goals of our work on equal opportunities at the University are defined by a series of laws, regulations and guidlines.
Actually enforcing the equal opportunities of men and women at the University still necessitates promoting the development of women in academia. For this reason, universities are required to establish equal opportunities action plans. The Equal OpportunitiesOfficer of the Universität Hohenheim reports once a year to the Senate on how these plans are being implemented, and also on her other activities.
The University’s Equal Opportunities Officer and her representatives (deputy and the equal opportunities officers for the faculties) are the contact partners for all women in academia – students, academic and scientific staff – at the University of Hohenheim who are being disadvantaged or sexually discriminated. They will also find support here in cases of sexual harassment. A further task of the equal opportunities officers for the faculties is to be involved in recruiting scientific staff for the University (only for established posts).
(You can find the form for completion by the recruiting institute on the University of Hohenheim’s intranet as a template from the Personnel Department.)
Alongside those tasks stipulated by law, each equal opportunities officer is allowed to focus on specific activities. Should you like to find out more about these, please click on the corresponding link below:
