Höchste Zeit für equal pay! Wie hängen Arbeitsentgelt und Arbeitszeit zusammen? Wie frei sind Frauen und Männer darin, wie sie ihre Zeit nutzen? Das sind Fragestellungen, denen die diesjährige Equal Pay Day Kampagne nachgeht. In Kooperation mit dem Gleichstellungsbüro der Uni Hohenheim kommt der BPW Club Stuttgart mit seiner Equal Pay Day Roadshow auf das Unigelände:

Noch immer arbeiten Frauen fast dreimal so häufig in Teilzeit wie Männer, da meist Frauen den Großteil der Care-Arbeit übernehmen. Diese Diskrepanz bei der Arbeitszeit ist mitverantwortlich für den Gender Pay Gap von 18 Prozent. Rechnet man diesen „Gender Pay Gap“ in Tage um, so arbeiten Frauen 2024 vom 1. Januar bis zum 6. März (dem Datum des diesjährigen Equal Pay Days) umsonst.
Eure Meinung ist gefragt: Was muss sich ändern, damit Care-Arbeit, Erwerbsarbeit und Freizeit paritätisch aufgeteilt werden können? Ist die 4-Tage-Woche eine Lösung oder verkürzte Vollzeit? Was können Jobsharing oder Digitalisierung dazu beitragen?
Diskutiert mit den Frauen des Business and Professional Women Club Stuttgart und lernt dabei auch dieses Netzwerk für Frauen in Beruf und Wirtschaft kennen. Der Stuttgarter Club ist Teil eines der größten und ältesten Frauennetzwerke der Welt, das in über 100 Ländern vertreten ist. In Deutschland setzen sich in 30 regionalen Clubs mehr als 1.200 Mitgliedern für die Chancengleichheit in Beruf, Wirtschaft, Politik und Gesellschaft ein. Der Club Stuttgart, bereits 1951 als einer der ersten des BPW-Netzwerkes in Deutschland gegründet, zählt heute über 60 Mitglieder, die sich gegenseitig fördern und sich mit Projekten, Workshops und Aktionen für die Gleichstellung von Frauen und Männern einsetzen.
High time for equal pay! What is the relationship between payment and working hours? How free are women and men in how they use their time? These are questions that this year's Equal Pay Day campaign is focusing on. In cooperation with the University of Hohenheim's Equal Opportunities Office, the BPW Club Stuttgart is coming to the university campus with its Equal Pay Day Roadshow:

Women are still almost three times more likely to work part-time than men, as women usually take on the majority of care work. This discrepancy in working hours is partly responsible for the gender pay gap in Germany of 18 percent. If you convert this "gender pay gap" into days, women will work for free from January 1 to March 6 (the date of this year's German Equal Pay Day) in 2024.
